Can you close the door manually? All the springs were replaced? Proper sized springs? Who did the replacement?

yes it closes manually and all springs were replaced properly sized. My husband did the replacement. It won't even close if I hold the button down and there is no noise either. No blinking light either.

A while back, I had a similar situation with my old garage door opener. Turned out, the problem was with the safety sensors misaligned after some maintenance work. Even though they looked fine at first glance, a slight adjustment did the trick. Sometimes those little sensors can be picky. If you've already checked everything else, it might be worth giving them another look.

Thank you for your input. I just gave up and bought a new opener because the cost for a repair man to come out would have been more than the cost for a new one.

Yes I changed the garage door opener and the wall button controller but used the existing sensors and now it works. So I am not sure what the problem was but it was not the sensors. It is too bad I couldn't fix the problem by replacing the logic board.
