Have you looked at the porcelain tile with a wood look? It's beautiful and as long as you keep the grout spacing narrow and use a dark colored grout, quality tile is truly easy to maintain. I'd pick something in a medium tone with enough grain look to it that it doesn't show every little thing that lands on it (especially with dogs and kids)

First you need to find out why the tiles are developing hairline cracks. Was it a bad installation and/or poor quality tile? Or more importantly, do you have a problem with your foundation settling/shifting?

I have already got a clearance for any foundation issues. It could be poor install or just extreme weather changes or size of the tiles. These are big 20*20 tiles running all across the floors so per the foundation companies they don’t have much give.

Builder grade tiles and many other homes have seen similar hairline cracks. We had 8 months long water restrictions, extreme freezes, historical hot summers. Some cracks appeared right after these weather changes.

The trend is for one flooring material throughout. Lots of people love lvt, but to me it’s just vinyl. I would put in engineered hardwood everywhere but I’m in the south where hardwood is the norm and tile throughout is the outlier.

That what I want opinion on from people who have used LVP in baths. Is it a good idea? I can do LVP in kitchen, powder and laundry but I am not sure about baths.

Btw did you mean LVT the luxury vinyl tile or LVP in baths? - the wood looking planks?
