“When you think of having contractors at your house over a span of a few months, the initial gut reaction is to just run. However, John Romans Construction and his crew made for a pleasant as possible experience. From beginning to end, John was helpful in navigating the process - from obtaining necessary city variance approvals, to the final details of the outdoor kitchen, and even a little consulting/advice on items outside of his scope. As with any project, we of course came across various unexpected obstacles. That being said, we truly appreciated John’s level of explanation and communication. “We inherited a 1970's "avocado green" galley kitchen. We did the best we could with simple homeowner improvements (replaced appliances, etc) but finally had to do a remodel. After interviewing several design/build firm, with went with Anthony Wilder. They created a design within our budget, and made some important safety upgrades that previous contractors had done incorrectly. We took out an interior wall and bumped out the back wall. We bought new high-end applicances, custom cabinets and installed hardwood floors. We also added a lovely back patio. The AWDB employees supervised every step of the remodel and made sure we were 100% satisfied. We love our new kitchen! It's been over 2 years and we still get compliments on its design and its beauty. Best of all, the total design and craftsmanship has greatly increased the value of our home.”
