 o
removing hot glue.......

Posted by jaybird (My Page) on

Good afternoon...I am looking for any ideas for removing dried/cool hot glue from fabric. The fabric is cotton, so that may be the only good news in this situation! I have tried a hair dryer, and after heating the glue for a while I was able to remove big globs...it's the little stuff I can't seem to budge!
I will surely appreciate any help with this disaster!!
(I am cross posting this in a couple of forums, and I thank all of you!)

You might try putting some scrap material over the glue when you heat it. Hopefully the scrape will absorb the glue.

I read on anothe thread, somewhere, to try the freezer and/or water as some glues are water soluable.

You might also try this: 1, remove the glue stick from the glue gun and clean every bit of stray glue off the metal tip, 2, place a piece of newspaper without any newsprint (look for a page without any text on both sides) over the fabric you want to remove the glue from, and 3) turn on the glue gun and use it to melt the old glue. Most of the glue should melt on to the newspaper. Good luck.
