Any decent online tool for estimating repair cost

I was wondering if there is a site or online tool that list the rough cost of repair or remodeling? Often there is a list of stuff to be done but it would be nice to prioritized by need and cost.

I looked at http://www.myremodelingproject.com/, but the results were way off at least for a roof. They estimated that replacing a 600 square feet flat rubber roof would be about $4551 in my area, but actual replacement cost is actually more like $1800.

Call local contractors on a job by job basis and get estimates. Internet information is useless.
This post is the obvious exception.
