 o
framing a ceiling level

Posted by ctghost (My Page) on

I bought an outdoor storage building that has a barn type roof, not a regular peaked roof. I wish to construct a ceiling to aid with controlling the heat/cold inside. When installing 2" x 4" how do I make sure they are level? I plan on installing insulation in this "attic" and a vent on each end once completed. Any links or websites that demonstrate how to do this would be helpful. Thanks,

RE: framing a ceiling level

Make the ceiling the same distance from the floor at all four corners. Establish this plane with string lines. It your building has top plates on the walls, you could rest the ceiling framing on those, but I suspect you want the ceiling higher than that.
