Ideas to spruce up an ugly porch and patio??

Posted by mom2-3boys (My Page) on

Anyone have any creative not 2 expensive diy ideas to make a tired ugly concrete porch and patio look nice? I have a grey sided ranch house. I love the look of a brick porch but I'm not sure if I can #1 do it myself? and #2 it can be done directly over the concrete? Any suggestion would be great and of course pictures of what you have done would be awesome!

Although we have a wood porch floor, we are using PVC rattan chairs, cushion, and ottoman along with nice pots and plants.

You can use everything from interlocking deck tiles (which are really cool and easy to do yourself)over concrete or perhaps concrete stamping would be a better solution and can be used on a porch or patio. Both can be done directly over your concrete porch and give it an entirely updated and unique look. There are a multitude of different products available to do just what you are looking for.

There are a variety of decorative concrete solutions you could use. All you need is proper surface prep, typical painting tools (ie. brush, roller), and a free afternoon.

Here is a link that might be useful: Gulf Synthetics
