I saw this unit on Amazon.com and wonder if anybody knows anything about it.
I didn't go look on web to see yet so I am curious.

| O.K., I guess I can now answer my question. http://www.chippynews.com/Tech,LaundryPureWhitePaper12-20-05.pdf I had ozonator on my pool for 12 years. Did I see anything different? Other than lots of bubbles in return, no. Laundry still needs to be pretreated if necessary. And they said that hard water needs treatment before installing this unit so that really would cost me arm and leg. I think I stick to hot water and detergent for now. Hopefully they will be coming up w/different ideas on how to clean clothes, possibly even without water and soap. How about, ultrasound or some sort of microwaves? Anyway. Here is another gimmick. http://befreetech.com/laundryballs.htm Does it work? |

Ozonators if properly installed really work and o3 swimming pools are healthier than chlorinated ones. They are also used in industrial processes as substitute of LCB, it's a clue they are effective. I'm totally skeptic with their "no detergent required" statement. Ok the ozonator acts as bleach, but would you wash with bleach only ? - Ultrasounds are used to clean/degrease gears and other parts in mechanical industry. De Dietrich (Fagor-Brand Group) designed a ultrasound dishwasher IMHO this thing can work as a soaking unit for "burned" pans and pots, not as a true dishwasher. Ultrasound need that water is in touch with every surface. If pots and glasses are upside down like in regular DW to drain, they can't be submerged (big air bubble remains inside). Those very places that require cleaning won't get clean - Microwaves : I've heard someone was developing a MW tumble dryer. The hardest issue are zippers and metal buttons that cause sparkles then fire hazard - Laundryballs .... or laundrylies ? |

| I have used this unit for two years now so I can tell you a fare share about it. First of all I still use detergent and I still use hot water. Despite their claims I didn't find that cold water washes especial without detergent, did an adequate job on my whites. Further more with my children's clothes, I found stains that weren't being removed. Laundrypure recommends pretreating stains to prevent this but sometimes I would miss them when I was in a hurry. Using detergent every time prevents stains from ever being overlooked and I don't need to worry about examining every piece of clothing for pretreating. With that said I do use less detergent. Good Things 1) Clothes smell and feel great. I recently had to replace the silver ion probe (recommended annually) so I reconnected the washer to the tap and left the unit out of service until the replacement came. We noticed a difference in the laundry right a way. You can feel and smell the clean with this thing. 2) We accidentally left a load in the washer for three days when we went out of town. Much to our surprise the laundry still smelt great. No musty oder in the machine... nothing! Previous to that if we left anything in our front loader for more than a day you would definitely smell it, sick..... 3) I like the fact that every load of laundry is sanitized without having to use hot water. Not to mention it keeps the machine smelling great, no mildew problems ever. 4) if clothes need to be washed just because they have been warn you don't need soap. For a light cleaning it's great and clothes smell clean, like ozone. Overall I love this thing. Just don't expect to save a tone of money from not using detergent or hot water ever again. I had the opportunity to return it if not satisfied but I chose not to. The sanitizing properties of the laundry pure are awesome. It's expensive but I nice complement to the laundry room in my opinion. |

| Thanks mieleforme, I'm glad you posted your experience. Hidroman, when I had the ozonator on my pool, I still had to use chlorine. Not sure if less than normal b/c this year it will be my first time without any gadgets. I had salt water chlorinator (loved the water w/it) for 4 years but b/c of the hard water I had the clean the cell every month and it was built up to the max and pain to clean it-nothing as they described. The cell wore out and new was 500 bucks so I stop using it. I like all the inventions but many are expensive to keep. The up front cost would not bother me. It's the longer term usage/cost that always gets me. Nothing last too long. |
