95% finished kitchen - pics!

Hello everyone! I want to thank everyone who helped me make so many countless decisions. Thank you for your ideas and suggestions!

It took 2 years of planning and 2.5 months of reno but we're fairly close to done. The backsplash needs to be done (of course!) but later. One cabinet door needs to be replaced as you'll see and new bar stools. Handles are not yet done (too short of screws and no metric in town!) - Hence the nice dishwasher knobs!

This was the kitchen before:

Really, really pretty. It looks like you have tons of new storage, too! Love your granite with the flooring you have; it goes so nicely together.

You must be overjoyed to be so close to the finish line after such a long time of dreaming about your new kitchen. (I can relate--we *officially* started our remodel over a year ago, but I spent over a year on planning and design, myself.)

Congratulations and enjoy. The light is really bright at the end of that tunnel, isn't it?!

I tried to figure out how to post your pics, but couldn't. But they look really great! The cabinets look really sharp, and i like the colors you chose, and the hardware. Looks like you have lots of storage, and your granite really pulls it all together. Great job!

Until someone more savvy than me figures it out, here is at least one of your pics in the link below.

It looks beautiful and so calming! I am having trouble getting the perspective of the whole thing. Do you have a layout you can post. Where is the frig now?

Thank you for your help Biochem101 (I'm in northern Canada - everything shipped/trucked in - Thank goodness for the Internet!) I still can't get these below to show....

I should have explained a little more of what we did. We kept the same layout but we removed the washer/dryer completely - closet and all - and moved it to the second floor bathroom. That gave us room to move the fridge to the left and gave so much more floor space - coming in and out of the garage.

The new pantry area was a pantry area before but a chimney came up through the middle of it and there were shelves around that. We put in a propane furnace which doesn't require a chimney so took out the whole thing and put in the wall cabinets - and oven. It made it 24" deep instead of 48" - providing more floor space. The large window helps make it look more spacious as well. Thanks for your comments!

Houseful: here are the layouts - hopefully it will work:

A neighbor to the north eh? (Waves in your general direction) :)

Okay, the code to paste a picture is this:

    " Just a little > at end

    Let's see these ones:

Ah, I see. You opened up the space by taking down the W/D walls and the old pantry closet. It must feel much bigger now. Cute doggie!

    Many thanks again biochem101!

It's amazing how much counter space was gained. I had little bits and pieces before. Now I have a lot of open stretches of counter space.

I love all of your choices together, it's quite a beauty! I also love your sign above your window :) Enjoy!

Lovely kitchen with lots of storage! You must have to buy when you can and store it until the next trip to civilization. Congratulations on a job well done, and enjoy!

What is the floor? Is that linoleum? It's beautiful

The floor is linoleum! It's Mannington Sobello Supreme - Modesto - in Pebble Beach.

We have a door from the garage into the kitchen, as well as two patio doors and a dog. My husband comes in with boots on often! So, I decided to not stress myself out and went with this flooring. It is perfect - doesn't show the dirt and also has a nice matte finish. People bend down to touch it thinking it's ceramic. It's looks pretty close.

    Thanks for your comments.
