Storehouse Furniture

Has anyone ever bought furniture from Storehouse? Is it good quality? Is there a NC store? I was looking through my HOME magazine and saw an ad for their furniture. The website looks great but since I've never heard of this store, I am hesitant to buy anything.

Off-topic, but I tried doing a search for storehouse in the forums but the search function on this site is terrible. It used to be much better, I don't know what happened. I apologize if this topic has been covered before.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Storehouse has mid quality fashionable furniture. They carry a Mitchell Gold or Crate and Barrel level of item, nice looking at a mid quality level. From what I can tell by being in their stores, most sofas are sinuous spring construction, the wood items seem sturdy and their items are always very up to date and good looking. They are reputable and good to deal with. They might have NC stores, try a search on their site.

I have a storage cabinet from Storehouse and I'd say "mid quality" is a good description. I'd equate it to some of the things we have from Pottery Barn - part solid wood, part veneer, part MDF - good for what I needed, nice looking and sturdy, but certainly not an heirloom if that is what you are looking for. Their delivery and customer service were very good when I ordered, and I know they are running a couple of sales right now - be sure to get on their email list.

Thank you! I have two young children so heirloom will have to wait (sigh!) for now.

I figured out what I was doing wrong with the search - apparently the search on the top searches ivillage while the one on the bottom searches the home forums!

I have a dining table & chairs from them. This piece of furniture seems very solid. The saleswoman was a nightmare though. It took forever to get the table, but they don't sell it anymore, so maybe it wasn't the store's fault, but rather the company they were getting it from.

I bought a sofa from Storehouse at an outlet mall in northern virginia; I'm very happy with it, seems sturdy, reasonable quality cushions & fabric. Best thing was I got nearly 50% off!

There are stores in Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro and Pineville. You should visit one to gauge the quality for yourself. Their stuff is sturdy, some pieces are expensive, others more reasonable. I bought Mitchell Gold chairs from them.

They sell Mitchell Gold, you will also find that brand at a store in Cary called beyondblue interiors.

I have bought 2 sofas and a chair from Storehouse. I like the furniture -- I think that mid-quality is probably a good description.

And they do look very nice!

(Delivery was a bad experience because the store here hired it out to teenagers, who damaged floors and walls).

Be carefull. A lot of the furniture at Storehouse is not from Mitchell Gold. They carry cheaper furniture from Rowe and other companies. For the full line of Mitchell Gold, check out BeyondBlue Interiors in Cary, NC. They are great to work with and super friendly.

Storehouse also carries many pieces that are built by Shermag, a Canadian furniture compay. We actually bought dining room chairs and a china cabinet that were built by Shermag and we have been very happy with them. They are the most comfortable dining room chairs we found -- and I was starting to feel like Goldilocks because I had tried out and rejected so many!

Here is a link that might be useful: Shermag Furniture

I believe Storehouse furniture has gone out of business? We have their library book shelves in maple and love them. We are looking for more with or w/o the glass doors. If anyone in NC/Northern VA has some they wish to sell - please let me know. joannmarie@triad.rr.com Thank you jm

Storehouse had a dining table that when you rotated the top, it opened up built in leaf's. If I remember correctly, it was round when closed and octogon when open. Does anyone know where I can find this table? Thanks.
