Kitchen and Great Room Paint color PICS included

Hi

I posted about a week ago for other help, but I am looking at my kitchen (which leads into the great room I spoke about on recent post). I want to paint each room a taupe(y) color but not sure which direction to go..

This is my kitchen:

I have absolute black granite on my perimeter cabinets which are a cinnamon stained alder wood.

My island is typhoon bordeaux (here is a closeup)

on black painted alder. All appliances are SS and light fixtures are black. We are having this tumbled travertine backsplash :

installed next week.. We get lots of sun-light so i don't HAVE to go really light.

My FR is going to have shades of Silver Sage colors in the pillows and accents:

What color do you recommend for kitchen and great room? I x-posted this on kithens, but figured I would give it whirl here as well. TIA for your help!

Lovely cabinetry...
I don't have a specific taupe to recommend- but my thought is to make the wall color a warm tone- the travertine should warm it up, but on my screen it reads cool otherwise.

I don't have a fan deck of my own (oh, poor me), but I remember that when I was looking for a taupe, one of the strong contenders was BM Pismo Dunes, worth a looksie.

[And, if I can impose on you...I remember your dining room chandelier (isn't it the circular one with the crystals?). Can you show me a photo of it, and also, is it in gold or silver/nickel color? I've found one by Candice Olson, but hers are all gold tone. Not what I'm looking for. Thanks for any info]

Thanks Kitch n kat- I do love them..
Bee- I love pismo dunes. In fact I have it circled in my fan deck so I may do that in the kitchen and then a lighter color on the same card in my FR..

Here is a picture of the chandy. I bought it at RH but saw it for MUCH less on ebay from several sellers after the fact. It didn't even occur to me to buy it there. It is a polished chrome finish but also comes in bronze I believe.

Your home is beautiful! What about manchester tan or silver sage???
