Yes, it is a four square! Can you return the front room back to a porch? It would look so much better. Painting the upper section a dark green and the lower half white with white trim and a haint blue on the porch ceiling would be fantastic!

Are there similar homes in your neighbourhood that have been updated, whether large or small, that could provide some inspiration. Finding a look you like though is one thing. If considering major structural updates, it’s best to find out what's possible at what price. For example, do you want to keep the closed in porch and the ramifications to remove.

I would consider a new stone wall that extends across the front property line to property line and then you would have a level yard area on the left.

Leaning towards solid color, although I've seen good examples of two tone coming off better than what's currently there. Opening the porch is definitely under consideration. I'm glad to hear someone else say it. The left side of the house is a badly neglected driveway, so a wall across would remove that feature. Thanks for all the suggestions and info. Just knowing the style is a game changer.

Painting it all one color --- I like the blue --- would be good, but it looks like you have 3 difference types of siding. Make sure your painter can get them all the same color.

I would like to see the front porch turned back into what it was and should be. Sometimes those porches were closed in and parts of the original structure were just covered over. I would hope you would be lucky enough to find some of that.
