Blending newly painted area with a previously painted area

Hi! I painted my entire downstairs, with the exception of a soffit and one wall in my kitchen. Fast forward, I'm remodeling the kitchen and I've removed the soffit and the wall separating my dining room and kitchen. My dilemma is this: my contractor is using the same brand of paint, the same color of paint, and the same sheen... but there is a discernible difference on both ends of my kitchen ceiling and the wall. When I painted, I used a sprayer but my contractor is using a roller. My question is; could the difference be because of the sprayer vs the roller?
I'd rather not have to paint the entire ceiling (2300 Sq ft) since I have crown moldings and a stackstone fireplace to take into consideration not to mention covering everything and taking down the artwork AND I've been without my kitchen since December because I've been dealing with the insurance company.
Any ideas? Is there a way to blend it so it's not so obvious? Would spraying make a difference?
Thanks much!
