Bath remodel with walk in shower

Hi, I plan to do a bath remodel and will take out my bathtub and replace with a walk-in shower. Can anyone speak about the temperature loss when doing a fixed (or single) shower panel? Like the clean and minimal look of a single panel but heard it can be impractical and during the winter because there is no door heat is lost and it can get cold when showering.

I often shower with the door open (shower is 4’6” x 6’6”) and don’t notice any difference. I’m in the south and have central heat and air. In my house in Maine with a tiny shower I dread opening the door as it’s often the only warm spot in the house.
